VÁLASZ ARIE YOM TOV NYÍLT LEVELÉRE

Tisztelt Arie Yom Tov!

A tények ugyanis a következők:

A magyar díjlovaglás valóban fontosabb bármelyikünknél. Éppen ezért a személyeskedés helyett a tények tiszteletben tartását és a sportág egészének érdekeit szolgáló együttműködést tartom elfogadhatónak.

Komjáthy-Losonczy Anikó
a Magyar Lovassport Szövetség
Díjlovagló Szakbizottságának elnöke

RESPONSE TO ARIE YOM TOV’S OPEN LETTER

Dear Mr. Yom Tov,

I was shocked to read your open letter, in which you make serious personal accusations against me and demand my immediate resignation.

However, before publicly holding someone responsible, it would be advisable to establish the facts and understand the decision-making structure of the Hungarian Equestrian Federation.

The facts are as follows:

The Olympic Coordination Committee and the Board of the Hungarian Equestrian Federation had already made the strategic decision to prioritise Hungary’s bid to host the 2027 Olympic Eventing Team Qualification Competition in Bábolna.

The reasoning behind this decision was that Hungary had already hosted an Olympic dressage qualification event four years earlier. Consequently, the chances of securing the hosting rights again were considered limited, and the Federation did not wish to jeopardise Bábolna’s chances by submitting an additional Hungarian bid.

The Hungarian Dressage Committee may express opinions and make recommendations, but the final decision-making authority rests with the Board of the Hungarian Equestrian Federation.

I received no official information regarding the registration of the Pilisjászfalu application in the FEI system, the circumstances under which it was registered, or the Federation’s actions on 28 October.

In fact, I only became aware of the latter through the correspondence you yourself made public. I was neither an addressee nor copied on any of those emails.

On what grounds, therefore, do you hold me personally responsible for a Federation decision and an administrative process in which I was not involved?

I find it particularly unacceptable that you have turned a sporting decision that did not meet your expectations into a personal attack and a public campaign demanding my resignation.

I acknowledge and appreciate the support that you and your family have provided to Hungarian dressage. However, I wish to make one thing absolutely clear: financial support for a sport does not entitle anyone to place themselves above the Federation’s decision-making process.

I categorically reject the unsubstantiated accusations directed at me personally, as well as your demand for my resignation.

Hungarian dressage is indeed more important than any one of us. For precisely that reason, I believe that respect for the facts and cooperation in the interests of the entire sport must take precedence over personal attacks.

Komjáthy-Losonczy Anikó
President of the Hungarian Dressage Committee
Hungarian Equestrian Federation
